FRISCO, TX – March 12, 2024 – Native American, Woman-Owned Teltech Group is a member of the Connecting Alaska Consortium, a nonprofit S-Corporation that specializes in addressing connectivity issues in rural and disconnected Tribal Lands in Alaska.  Each of the 16 businesses that have combined forces in this effort bring specific expertise, talent, and deep resources to tailor comprehensive solutions to each community’s unique needs.

“As a citizen of the Cherokee Nation, my passion is closing the nation’s digital divide,” said Teltech CEO Lisa Hanlon.  “Teltech is pursuing that goal by actively providing end-to-end deployment services for state-of-the-art 5G broadband networks to support rural communities and tribal lands.” Teltech extends this effort beyond the U.S. mainland through its involvement on the board of the Connecting Alaska Consortium.  The organization helps solve the most difficult connectivity issues for rural and disconnected Alaskan Tribes and Villages through business and technical leadership, solution architecture, and subject matter expertise.

Alaska’s tribal leaders lean on the Connecting Alaska Consortium for

  1. Grant opportunity identification and grant writing assistance for nearly $5B in new broadband funding
  2. Solution architecture for new network laydowns in remote areas; assuring the new networks meet NTIA and FCC connectivity requirements
  3. Design provisioning and providing a management portal for small-application broadband deployment suites
  4. Providing key consulting on system and partner selections; matching the Tribe’s or Village’s culture with the correct corporate partners

To best achieve its goal to be an all-inclusive resource for Alaskan Natives’ broadband needs, the Connecting Alaska Consortium is Alaska-based and vendor agnostic.  It understands Alaskan Tribe’s and Village’s desire to make decisions that are ideal for their regions rather than settle on and adapt to so called “cookie-cutter” or “drive-by” solutions many are being offered as they begin receiving government funding.

Teltech Group solves business challenges surrounding network asset management, warehousing and logistics, personnel expertise/shortages, and practical utilization of evolving technologies.
