FRISCO, TEXAS (September 1, 2020) Teltech Group, a nationally recognized logistics/supply chain services and asset management company in the telecommunications industry, has been officially notified by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment that they have selected Teltech as a “Gold Leader” in the Colorado Environmental Leadership Program (ELP). A Gold Leader means the company has a fully operational, facility-specific Environmental Management System (EMS) and exceeds regulatory requirements. Teltech, an ISO 14001 certified business, achieved this recognition upon its first ever application.

The award ceremony for ELP winners is typically a large group gathering. In 2020, the celebration has been amended due to the pandemic. On a date to be announced, officials representing the Colorado Environmental Leadership program will be at Teltech’s Grand Junction office location to apply the ELP Gold leader logo to pavement in front of the building. A socially distanced and masked group including staff, media, industry leaders and government officials will be on hand to observe and applaud the achievement.

The Environmental Leadership Program (ELP) is a voluntary state program that encourages and rewards organizations that go beyond compliance with state and federal regulations and for showing commitment to continued environmental improvement. The program is open to all Colorado businesses, industries, offices, educational institutions, municipalities, government agencies, community, not-for-profit and other organizations. Currently, the program consists of three tiers, Bronze Achievers, Silver Partners and Gold Leaders. The rigorous assessment process includes identification of sustainability as an embedded value of the organization. Applicants must list goals, objectives, measures taken and the results of their ongoing initiatives. They must have established processes that enable identification of risks and provide annual sustainability reports to the state. They provide mentoring to the community and other businesses, and they provide ongoing waste prevention training. They have zero violations on record.

Teltech provided all the above and more. Examples of Teltech Group’s innovative sustainability programs include

“There are many companies that implement an EMS to achieve environmental compliance and provide a basis to employees and the community for their core value of environmental stewardship. Teltech takes its commitment to sustainability and being a good neighbor to levels beyond that,” said Mike Meagher, president at Teltech. “Our teams take the responsibility of living and working on this planet very seriously, continually looking for ways to reduce consumption and landfill waste. We stand by the 5 Rs in all aspects of our business – Reuse/Redeploy, Refurbish, Resell and Recycle – even providing those services for our clients. Being an ELP Gold Leader is recognition we will definitely hold proudly!”
